In hounour of Rudy Giuliani's descent into madness, I was going to type to this with my toes, but I didn't know if anyone would get the joke. The crazy thing is, I didn't know Giuliani also doubled as Patrick Laines' agent.
That contract is brutal. Good for Winnipeg, I guess but good luck in two years when he scores back to back 60 goal seasons.
This week has been absolutely surreal, but I've learned some great lessons.
1. No matter how incompetent you are, how unqualified, or how many times you've clearly demonstrated that you're a traitor, you can do anything you want if you refuse to ever admit you aren't infallible.
People tell me I can't be an NHL general manager, but the 2010s taught me to never let a dream go, no matter how ridiculous.
2. Some people are so afraid to admit they were wrong, they'll go down with the ship. I imagine _----- would be knee deep in icy Atlantic water, still telling people the Titanic was unsinkable.
Anyways, I am having an absolute blast watching this house of straws crumble I almost forgot about the fact the NHL season was starting.
The Coyotes cut Kyle Capobianco, Jordan Gross and Lane Pedersen - they'll go the AHL.
They also put these guys on waivers:
Coyotes place Michael Bunting, Aaron Ness, Hudson Fasching & Michael Chaput on waivers ahead of reassignment.

So no alarms, no surprises.
I still think that Patrick Laine contract is crazy cheap.
Some days I really like John Chayka and other days I wonder if maybe he didn't commit obvious treason to get his job. Not that I know anyone who's done that.
I guess only time will tell - I mean:
We Are Only Days Away From Embarking on the CARL SODERBERG ERA

OH YEAH!
