Anaheim Ducks prospects Sam Colangelo, Jackson LaCombe, Henry Thrun and Trevor Zegras have all been named to the United States’ preliminary roster for the 2021 World Junior Hockey Championship.

LaCombe, a left-handed defenseman, was the 39th pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. He’s back with the University of Minnesota this season, where he has an assist in four games so far.

Thrun was a fourth-round pick by the Ducks in 2019. He’s another left-handed defenseman and scored 21 points in 31 games with Harvard University last season. He’s started this season in the USHL with the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Zegras was selected ninth overall by the Ducks in last year’s draft. He led the United States’ World Junior team in points last year, with nine points in five games, and is expected to be a key member of the team once again this time around.

The team will still need to cut four players in advance of the tournament.
