The dark start to the season is over.
The Coyotes reeled off eleven straight losses, and a 0-10-1 record before finally defeating the Flyers last night.
And it wasn't easy. Oh no it was not. The Coyotes had leads of 2-0 and 3-1 before blowing it and heading to overtime tied at threes. If you were watching the game, you'd be excused for shutting it off and assuming a loss - it's been that kind of season for the Coyotes so far.
But alas, it was not to be. The blowing it, that is. The Coyotes won.
That would be mean. And hey, if you don't have time to watch the entire highlights pack, at least check out the winner at the 4:30 mark. Beauty! As the kids say.
Of course it wouldn't be a Coyotes game recap with out some bad news, and the bad news is this: They have to play again tonight! Kidding, I hope they keep it rolling with a Halloween victory against the Red Wings.
The actual bad news is that Nik Hjalmarsson was injured in the game. As is NHL protocol he is out for an unspecified time with an unspecified injury. I saw what happened, and it's definitely a body-injury. That's all I can say.
Final point: The victory last night went to Coyotes fourth goalie of the year (and they've had six if you count guys backing up) Scott Wedgewood. Due to them not wanting to ever play Louis Domingue again, and not wanting (one assumes) to use their fifth goalie of the year, they'll be going with Wedgewood again.
Here's hoping they can keep the winning streak alive!
