Islanders forward Casey Cikizas did not practice this morning. Cizikas suffered a lower-body injury in the Islanders 2-1 win Saturday against the Ottawa Senators.
Doug Weight on Casey Cizikas: "He's a little sore today so he took the day off, but I don't think it's going to be anything serious. Could be 3 or 4 days, could be a week or he could be playing tomorrow." #Isles

Cizikas is one of the most indispensable forwards on the roster. He is one of the most effective penalty killers and a fixture on the fourth line. With Nikolay Kulemin out for the remainder of the regular season, the Isles cannot afford to have Cizikas out for any period of time.
The 26-year-old center has notched eight points (four goals, four assists) in 23 games this season. The Islanders are set to face the Canucks Tuesday night followed by the Senators again on Friday.
Anthony Beauvillier, who is benched in favor of Alan Quine Saturday, skated in Cizikas's place on the fourth line today.
