Carey Price out with Lower Body Injury (Carey Price)

It has been announced that Carey Price will be out of Saturday’s match against the Winnipeg Jets.

***Update: Charlie Lindgren called up from Laval, as per Sportnets Eric Engels.

As per the Canadiens official website the injury did not hamper him during the last game against the Minnesota Wild. The Canadiens have indicated they will be recalling a goalie for the game against Winnipeg.

The timing of the injury, and lack of detail, has many wondering what is really happening with Price. His play has been way below his own standard and with the Canadiens now scoring again it’s been the play of its most dependable player that has hindered the club.

Many professsional media types are speculating on what this mystery injury actually is. Everything from spousal issues to substance abuse issues. It really illustrates why Montreal has a handicap in its ability to be a standard NHL club. The media creates nonsense then spread it incessantly. Why would a person want to play in a city where that will happen as soon as you hit a cold streak? It’s unfortunate to say, but Montreal is a undesireable destination for most in the NHLPA. From the language prejudice on those hired to be coach or GM, the incredibly ignorant media who fabricate stories about players for attention, to the tax rates for high earners.

I hope Price is well and I think that perhaps he needs time to figure something out as he’s not playing positionally sound hockey at the moment. He looks frustrated and shaken. Not Price like at all. If this isn’t actually injury related then I also hope that he and his support network can help themselves through whatever it is. I would preach respecting the privacy of Price, if that is the case.

In any case, the Montreal media needs to stop starting fires where there is none. It’s becoming borderline slanderous. Sometimes teams don’t play well. Period. Tampa Bay missed the playoffs last year and are now dominant.

Shtuff Happens. Deal with it.
