As Baden Holtby goes, so do the Caps.
Prior to Philipp Grubauer picking up a surprise win last night vs. the Lightning, Ol' Grubby was rocking an 0h-five and one record (0-5-1) and doing his best to show that Holtby should win the Vezina by contrasting against him.
Gurbauer picked a good time to get his first win, as the Caps had the hardest possible back-to-back situation: Tampa and Toronto.
Can't blame the back-up goalie for his lousy record though. the Caps are terrible and Braden Holtby is otherwordly. Holtby is THE reason the Capitals are currently ahead of the Coyotes in the standings.
I'm sure it's just a coincidence that Trotz made that decision after I wrote about it following their loss to Calgary on Monday. I told him to put put OV and Backstrom back together, he listened, and now the team has two straight wins. Trotzie, if you're reading this, I want some credit - and a job as assistant coach. Also, come on man, stop playing Orpik so much.
Anyways......
Tonight it might even be three in a row because the Leafs are not only dressing their back-up goalie.
Saturday night in Toronto is always a fun time/
