Capitals Clinch Playoffs (Capitals)

The Washington Capitals did not play last night.

But they did clinch the Playoffs.

When the Devils blew their lead and lost to the Penguins, the Capitals clinched a playoff spot for what I believe (but am too lazy to check) is the fourth year in a row.

Hurray and Huzzah!

The Capitals lead their division and, if the playoffs started today, would be in tough against a strong Flyers team. The Capitals have won five in a row and 9 of their last 10. They are certainly peaking at the right time, as they head into the Playoffs.

Should the Caps dispose of the Flyers, they'll almost certainly have to take on the Penguins, yet again. The Penguins are the NHL's best team, by far, and they should be huge favorites heading into the Stanley Cup Tournament.

And I say this as a Capitals fan and someone who wouldn't mind at all if the Penguins missed the playoffs.

Oh well! I guess we should focus on the positive, which is that the Capitals are making the playoffs. Tonight they play Carolina and I'll be eastering, which, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what that is.

Anyways, happy Easter / Day off Work!
