Just a few weeks after it was reported the Calgary Flames and Jaromir Jagr were going to end their relationship, the two sides have taken the first step towards doing so.
Now that the legendary 45-year-old winger has returned to health, he's been placed on waivers with the purpose of finding him a new home – be it in the NHL or elsewhere.
Correction: Jagr is on regular waivers.

Given how things have played out this year, it's probably safe to assume Jagr will clear waivers. If and when that happens, Jagr and the Flames will undoubtedly come together to terminate his contract and free him up to go overseas.
While I definitely thought signing Jagr was worth a shot – he was quietly a very effective player last year in Florida – it simply didn't work out.
He tallied just six points in 22 games, was in and out of the lineup due to nagging injuries, and never really played the role he probably thought he signed up for.
Things just didn't get off the ground for Jagr and, with the top-6 set in stone and his body breaking down, the opportunity wouldn't be there for that to happen.
