Jared Spurgeon snapped home a one timer off a brilliant feed from Jordan Schroeder to stretch the Wild franchise record win streak to 11!!!
Schroeder is playing like he does not ever want to go back to Iowa again. He scored a huge goal in Montreal in his first game and followed that up with two assists including the primary helper on the game winner. Competition breeds excellence and the Wild have players fighting for playing time and the results are all positive.
The Blue Jackets also won last night, stretching their win streak to 13. So if the Wild can win Thursday at home versus the Islanders and Columbus wins in Winnipeg it would set up the class of 2000 showdown Saturday at Xcel Energy Center between the two hottest streaking teams in the NHL.
First things first the Islanders, but it is fun to look at the possibilty.
