Bruce Boudreau to coach Canucks; Benning fired too. All eyes on Philly? (NHL)

Bruce Boudreau is the new coach in Vancouver, per Elliotte Friedman. Good move by the Canucks.

The 66-year-old Boudreau last coached in 2019-20, and went 27-23-7 with the Wild prior to his dismissal. Boudreau, who coached in the AHL for nine seasons from 1999 through 2008 (and won a Calder Cup with Hershey in 2005-06), jumped to the NHL ranks in 2007 as the head coach of the Capitals and has had stops in Washington, Anaheim, and Minnesota along the way.

Boudreau’s 567 wins behind an NHL bench are the 22nd-most in NHL history.

The next place to look: Philly. After getting handled tonight at home to Tampa, the Flyers will play Colorado tomorrow night. I would not be surprised at all if Rick Tocchet is coaching in Philly soon, as there are some at Comcast wanting this to happen I am told.
