New York kicks off training camp Thursday and one of their originally unsigned RFAs signed a deal Wednesday night. Brendan Lemieux inked a one-year deal worth $925K. That amount is a little more than 50K above the team's $874,125 qualifying offer, meaning that Lemieux's salary will be the same as the ELC for Kappo Kakko etc. Lemieuc will have arb rights next year and with a good year, could double his salary for the 2020-21 season. Tony DeAngelo remains the team's only unsigned RFA.

Cap implications of the signing, the below already includes burying Matt Beleskey in the minors, meaning 825k in dead cap space:
After signing Lemieux for 1 yr $925K, the #NYRangers have $235K Cap Space with full 23 (15F/6D/2G) players on Projected Roster.

RFA: DeAngelohttps://t.co/00zTCjeiZO
Cap total is for 15 forwards, including Greg McKegg and Boo Nieves for a total of $1.45 mil, six defenseman, including Adam Fox and Libor Hajek. Ryan Lindgren who makes $92K more than Hajek, could be an option to break camp. Yegor Rykov might have been an option, but he was hurt in Traverse City, isn't on the Rangers' training camp roster and the rumor is he may be out several weeks, and two goalies. If DeAngelo signs for what Lemieux is receiving or even slightly higher, New York should have sufficient cap room, presuming McKegg and Nieves are both sent to the minors.
Published team using Armchair GM on Cap Friendly. Includes Beleskey buried, Nieves in minors, Brendan Smith on D, Fox making the team and Hajek as the 7th d-man. New York would have just under a mil in remaining cap room, which isn't optimal.
