Bolts Game Day: Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Detroit Red Wings (Lightning)

Tonight, the Tampa Bay Lightning (8-1-1) will host the Detroit Red Wings (4-5-1) for the second of four meetings between these two teams this season. The Bolts won the first game 3-2 on October 16th at the new Little Caesars Arena.

The Lightning have won eight regular-season games in a row against Detroit and will look to bring it to nine tonight. Since the 2012-13 season, Tampa Bay is 15-4-0 against the Red Wings, which is tied for their most wins over a single team during that period of time. The Buffalo Sabres are the other team that has suffered 15 losses at the hands of the Bolts since 2012-13. In addition, the Lightning have won nine straight home games over the Red Wings.

Tampa Bay has 17 points in their first ten games and is off to its best start in franchise history. The Lightning have acquired points in eight consecutive games which is their longest point streak since 2016 where they won nine games in a row.

The Bolts have been a terror for every team they have faced this season, especially at home. They are 5-0-0 at AMALIE Arena and can set a new franchise record for consecutive home wins to start a season with a victory tonight.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have been one of the most, if not the most, exciting storylines in the National Hockey League so far this season. Expect another impressive outing from the men in blue and white tonight. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET.
