Bolts Game Day: Tampa Bay Lightning @ Detroit Red Wings (Lightning)

The Tampa Bay Lightning play their first of three consecutive road games tonight in Detroit against the Red Wings. The puck is set to drop at 7:30 PM ET.

The Bolts have been off to quite the hot start this season, winning four of their first five games. They also have had the privilege of playing four of those five games at AMALIE arena, suffering their only loss of the season on the road against the Florida Panthers.

On a much more surprising note, the Red Wings have also been off to a hot start. Of course, it is still early, and we all expect this team to come back to reality, but starting off the year 4-1-0 has to have Detroit feeling pretty good about themselves. They currently share first place in the Atlantic Division with both the Bolts and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Unlike the Lightning, the Red Wings have spent most of their year on the road. This will be only their second game played at the new Little Ceasars arena.

For the Lightning, this game is all about making a statement and keeping the ball rolling. They are one of the better teams in the National Hockey League and treat their more inferior opponents as such. With a win tonight, Tampa can bring their winning streak to four games.

Quick Notes

- Andrei Vasilevskiy was the first goalie off of the ice in practice today and appears to be making his sixth straight start in net tonight.

- Brayden Point will be a game-time decision for tonight's contest. Jon Cooper commented to Joe Smith that Point is feeling under the weather.
