Zach Bogosian is headed to the Rochester Amerks. That is IF he chooses to accept his assignment.
Bogosian will do what is best for he and his family.
The Sabres will now get approximately $1.1 million in salary cap relief.

It appears as though Zach Bogosian's six year stint with the Buffalo Sabres has come to an end.
When the Sabres assembled for practice at 11:00am today, Bogosian did not accompany his team on the ice.
The team announced that Marcus Johansson, Carter Hutton (maintenance) and Michael Frolik (illness) are not practicing today.

Bogosian, 29, was waived by the Sabres on Friday.
We will learn at Noon Eastern time today if Bogosian has cleared waivers or if he has been claimed by anither NHL club.
Suffice it to say that Bogosian will be moving on.
Bogosian has value inside the NHL, however, his $5.1 million annual averge value and recent injury history are two factors that are weighing heavily against him being claimed by another NHL today.
My guess is that should Bogosian clear waivers, he will not be reporting the the Rochester Amerks .
If this is the case, Jason Botterill can then loan the veteran blueliner to another organization similar to what the Sabres did when they waived Matt Moulson in December 2017. Moulson was placed on waivers by the Sabres, he cleared waivers the following day and was unwilling to creport to Rochester Americans and was to lent to the Ontario Reign (LA Kings).
Earlier Saturday morning, the Sabres sent left shot defenseman Lawrence Piut to Rochester and then called up left shot D John Gilmour and goalie Andrew Hammond.
The Sabres are off today and host the Toronto Maple Leafs in a must win game on Sunday night.

During his six year NHL career in Buffalo, the oft-injured Bogosian played in just 243 games.
The big D has been bothered by injuries the past few seasons which limited his ability to take to the ice and play in games.
Last spring, Bogosian had successful surgery to repair a damaged hip. This season, he has appeared in just 19 games. In December, Bogosian requested a trade from the Sabres.
Bogosian still can contribute to an NHL club. There are teams that covet a healthy, productive Bogosian.

Bogosian can snap th epuck around and move well for a big man. The former third over pick in the 2008 NHL Draft has scored 13 goals and 54 assists in Buffalo. In his 12 year NHL career, Bogosian has played in 636 career NHL games scoring 53 goals and 141 assists.
