The Blues will host Columbus tonight in their annual Barking for the Blues game. The Blues Jackets have lost 2 in a row and are 4-4 on the year. Blues fans may be excited to know that Sergei Bobrovsky will not be getting the start in favor of Joonas Korpisalo but Bobrovsky has struggled this year with only a 87.2% save percentage. Seth Jones is recently back for the Blue Jackets.
The Blue Jackets are giving up a ton of goals, 3rd worst in the league, even though they are in the top 3rd of the league in shots against (simple "fancy" stats aren't so fancy). They have struggled on special teams, 5th worst power play and 8th worst penalty kill. As a side note, they are generating the 6th most shots per game but are in the bottom half of the league in scoring.
Oskar Sundqvist will draw back into the lineup to center the 4th line while Robert Thomas sits again. Jerabek will be the other healthy scratch.
Much to the dismay of Blues fans, Robert Bortuzzo was placed on injured reserve meaning that Jay Bouwmeester will continue to get more minutes than Blues fans like.
In other injury news, Robby Fabbri scored a short handed goal last night in his first game in San Antonio while on conditioning. Nikita Soshnikov and Carl Gunnarsson also joined Fabbri in conditioning stints with San Antonio while Sammy Blais was sent down.
