Jason Botterill continues to reshape the Buffalo Sabres organization.
The Sabres have acquired veteran defenseman Zach Redmond from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Nic Deslauriers.
Redmond will report directly to the Rochester Amerks.
In 2016-17, Redmond played with the Habs and the St. John's IceCaps. He chipped in five assists in 16 NHL games and 18 points (4G, 14A) in 26 games with the IceCaps.
Last week, Botterill sealed Deslauriers’ fate in Buffalo when he claimed veteran forward Jordan Nolan off waivers from the LA Kings.
Deslauriers didn’t fit in Phil Housley’s uptempo, 5-Man System.
Nolan and Deslauriers were once teammates with the Manchester Monarchs.
Last Friday night against the NY Islanders, Nolan recorded an assist in his first game as a Sabres.
In 211 career games in Buffalo, Deslauriers accumulated 12 goals, 18 assists and 186 PIMs.
