Seven goals from the Wild last night and a pretty dominant performance over the Stars last night.
Dean Evason once again dialed up the right combination with his line juggling and the players responded with one of their best performances of the season.
It is not always the case when switching the lines up, creates the desired outcome, and last night was not totally a result of the new combinations jelling solely. The fact is Evason keeps his team hungry by giving responsibility to the guys that are playing well and working hard. He has no issue moving players in and out or up and down the lineup as egos are secondary to winning hockey games.
There was some degree of the law of averages at play and that the Wild were due to have some better fortune when it comes to putting the puck in the net. One needs to look no farther than the third period stats which show the Wild were outshot 20-6 and came out of the period with four goals while surrendering only two.
Combine that with the effort that the players gave and the result was a dominant performance. Throw in the clunker that the Wild had on Tuesday and their will to show it was just one of those games, but they were going to use it as motivation moving forward.
To show just how in tune Dean Evason is with his team, the two shifts following the both of the Stars third period goals, he reunited Kaprizov and Zuccarello with Victor Rask and they scored on each of those shifts to kill any momentum that Dallas might have gained.
It is back to the road and this time it is to the East Coast as they face two of the league's best teams in Florida tomorrow night and then to 2-time defending Stanley Cup Champions, Tampa Bay before wrapping up the trip against a very good New Jersey Devils squad on the Eve of Thanksgiving.
