New Jersey Devils goaltender Jonathan Bernier has been placed on injured reserve and recalled Akira Schmid from Utica.
Schmid is a tall netminder like Mackenzie Blackwood and has been lights out in Utica. He has a 1.60 GAA with a .944 save for the Comets this season. His record is 8-0-2. According to Sam Kassan, he will be at the morning skate today. The Devils take on the Nashville Predators tonight at 7:30pm ET at the Rock.
