The Cats look to keep their perfect preseason going as they face off against the instate rival Tampa Bay Lightning for the start of a three-game preseason battle. Can I just say that I love the idea of clashing with these guys three times before the start of the season.
Awesome!
The Lightning suffered some post-cup fallout this off-season, losing some players in order to make the money work. While on the other side of the state the Panthers were busy adding pieces like Sam Reinhart, Joe Thornton and addition through the subtraction of Yandle, Stralman, etc. I’m obviously biased but I think the Panthers have the better look tonight. The blend of youth and veteran players has looked great thus far - these guys are deep.
That being said…the defending champs are the defending champs for a reason. The Lightning still have a lot of talent on their squad and it won’t be an easy game for the Cats. Hoping we get to re-live some of that fire from the first round!
Bob is out tonight but should start Saturday per Q.
Bobrovsky is expecting his first child to be born any minute, so he won’t be traveling to Orlando or Tampa.

Knight will likely start tonight.
Bummer to also see these names staying back.
Mamin, Carlsson and Ludvig also aren’t traveling, per Coach Q.

Encouraging news from Lundell, who has returned to ice and is feeling good. Also digging these words from Thornton. The guy rules. Total pro that’s willing to play anywhere and do whatever the team needs for it to succeed.
