If there is one reason we should all be praying to see playoffs this season it is that we are heading towards a Battle of Alberta series in a year where that classic rivalry has once again really heated up.
Everyone knows the dynasty that was the Edmonton Oilers back in the late 80s, but what many don't remember is just how good those Calgary Flames teams were as well. The Flames did win a Stanley Cup in 1989, but in any other era I believe we would have seen multiple Cups...
Who would win if the best players to ever play for these teams (min 100 games) were to face off? Here is a look at both teams All-time rosters. (according to me at least)

Edmonton: Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, McDavid, Draisaitl , Glen Anderson, Ryan Smyth, Esa Tikkanen, Doug Weight, Craig Simpson, Hemsky, and Craig MacTavish Calgary: Iginla, Theo Fleury, Nieuwendyk, Roberts, Gilmour, Nilsson, Loob, Mullen, Otto, Gaudreau, Monahan, and Lanny McDonald Advantage? Edmonton...Really hard for ANYONE to top those Oilers forwards...the top end talent is just overwhelming...
All-time Defensemen...
Edmonton: Coffey, Huddy, Lowe, Jason Smith, Richardson, and Klefbom... Calgary: MacInnis, Suter, Giordano, Macoun, Phaneuf, Regehr Advantage? Calgary. Its close, but on depth I have to go Calgary
All-time Goalies... Edmonton: Fuhr and Ranford Calgary: Vernon and Mikka Kiprusoff... Advantage? Tie..I think...you?
Who wins? The Oilers have to be the favorite...just on Cups alone and only one team has a Gretzky..But I loved watching Joel Otto defend against Wayne..
Of course, my job today will be to create these teams in NHL20 and live stream the game so we can watch some hockey..
