The Islanders will have two representatives for the All-Star Game in Tampa at the end of the month.
Josh Bailey has been named to his first career All-Star Game. Bailey has 50 points in 42 games, which is currently eight in the league. Bailey has come so far over the last two seasons. It nice that league has recognized him.
John Tavares has been named to his sixth All-Star Game. Tavares has 22 goals and 29 assists in 43 games this season, which is currently sixth in the league.
Not to my surprise, Anders Lee was not chosen. Lee is third in the league with 25 goals but does not play in the 3-on-3 overtime format which the league is employing once again for the game. He is deserving though.
This is the first time since 2015 that the Islanders have two representatives (Tavares and Jaroslav Halak)
