NOTES:
By just about any metric, the Avalanche are a bad team this year. But it always seems like the Hawks either have a lot of trouble with them, or just come out and destroy them. Stay tuned. Because the other issue for Chicago tonight will be the absences of Marian Hossa and Artem Anisimov. On the flip side, Corey Crawford makes his return after recovering from an appendectomy. Tanner Kero, who's been having a nice season in Rockford, has been recalled and will center the fourth line. The AK72 line and Marcus Kruger's third line with Richard Panik and Dennis Rasmussen remain intact. The Hawks will go rookies three across on line two, with Ryan Hartman and Tyler Motte flanking Vince Hinostroza.
Finally, if you have a couple of hours free for some hockey discussion and random silliness, check out Puckin Hostile ShoutCast #72, recorded Wednesday night with Gatekeeper, Atomic Froster, Frank Nova of Hockeenight and yours truly:

And yes, for the 3-4 of you who actually listened to one of my podcasts, 2017 will be the year I bring it back with some special guests. Look for that in February leading up to the trade deadline perhaps.
I'll have a recap on tonight's game in the AM.
