We are just a couple of weeks away from real NHL and Colorado Avalanche hockey. Before that can happen the kids will get a first crack on the ice.
Some of the Avs' best young prospects, including Bowen Byrum, Oskar Olausson, Alex Newhook, and Justus Annunen will be on full display when the kids camp gets going.
Byrum is expected to play a much bigger role for Colorado this season especially with the departure of another highly-rated D prospect in Connor Timmins (traded to AZ).
The Avalanche released all the info and dates pertaining to the development camp and rookie challenge. The camp is set for September 12-14 at the Family Sports Center and the rookie challenge will take place September 17-20 in Arizona.
