At Least Some Good News Comes From the Light Schedule (Wild)

After playing only four games in the season's first two weeks the Wild will be back in action full bore. Starting tomorrow they will play 6 games to finish out October over 12 days and November will be a busy month with the team having 15 games.

The blessing is that with the injuries that the Wild have to their forwards the extended break has given them time to mend without missing much game action.

Marcus Foligno returned to practice and will play tomorrow with a full cage to protect his facial fracture sustained in a fight with the Blackhawks, John Hayden last Thursday night.

Mikael Granlund was also practicing with the team today and his time table for a return may be moved up from what was originally slated to be Tuesday when the Wild return home to face the Canucks. But Granlund has looked good in practice and is now a game time decision to possibly play as early as tomorrow night in Winnipeg.

The injuries have mounted quickly for the Wild for certain, but caution still must be taken with the return of Granlund. As you may recall he injured the groin prior to camp but looked good enough to be in the opening night lineup. It was obvious though in that game Granlund was not himself and he has yet to play a game since.

Granlund is the catalyst of this offense and his health is a major concern. Hopefully he is fully recovered and this does not become a looming injury that drags on by rushing him back into game action.
