SgtMikal asks… Coaching carousel, Flyers goaltending (both coming and going) Ek: As of now the Flyers are still all about patience…If Ed Snider were still here I fully believe Julien would have already interviewed for the job behind the scenes…and that would be even if Hakstol was doing a good job. Ed never missed a chance at “top line talent.… Hakstol is in his own “sophomore slump… of sorts. Motivating NHLers is a tough task. In college the players change every year or so and you can re-use your bag of tricks. Not true in the NHL. He also doesn’t appear to have a good grasp on how to get NHLers out of slumps. At UND he never really had to face extended tough times.

cabin asks…. What ever happened to the site update, revamp or whatever you want to call it. Ek… thanks for asking. It’s coming along. but as we saw from the NHL revamp, rushing things is NEVER a good idea. We have internally tried a lot of concepts and finally settled on what I feel is a site that will make things way more user friendly and customizable while at the same time still feeling familiar and not confusing..much if that is back end stuff with how the database and servers run…but there will be some incredible new features…the key is not letting them get in the way of what it is that makes our site popular…so the timeframe is….…soon, but not until we are ready and tested……
Bruins Blood Asks… Boston Bruins >> what realistic trade options exist? i.e. Shattenkirk? > do they have the assets that St Louis would want? What about selling off vets i.e. Chara or Krejci? do they have actual value out there in the NHL wilderness? Ek… I think we need to wait and see a bit now..I always had the impression Julien was the one pushing for Shattenkirk…They do have the assets the Blues want, but they won’t move Pasternik…and the management group is really hoping to see their drafts make an impact. They want this to be their team. Krejci is really hard to trade right now, but Chara does have value...if he is OK moving.
bcalloway asks…. Is it Berenstain Bears or Berenstein Bears? Ek… Do you mean the bears who are kind of furry around the torso and a lot like people, only more so? As long as it isn’t Caillou….He is all that’s wrong with the world. Justin Bieber is what happens when a Canadian kid is raised on Caillou.
pj devil asks…. Who on the Devils is most likely to be moved next? Do you think they would move a Henrique or Schneider to try and acquire more picks/a guy like a Shattenkirk or Duchene? Ek… Not likely to be Henrique and definitely not Schneider…You have to look to Ray Shero who built the Penguins and was a big part of building the Predators…He is aggressive and looks for players who can be part of the core…Hall is a great example…some are saying Parenteau will be moved, and he may be…but I keep hearing they would like to keep him around..the problem is he only really performs well on one year deals…Perhaps they can move Kyle Quincey….but only for a pick similar to Fidler…The Devils used to sign one year guys that they could move as rentals…Shero doesn’t do that as much…but Ray Shero is a great GM and the Hall trade was spectacular….and will prove out to be so.
Avsrchamps01 asks… What's the latest on Landeskog? Seems like Avs are asking for a young Dman, prospect and 1st? Ek… I think there is a greater opportunity to move Landeskog later and Duchene sooner…. I was told today the Islanders REALLY like Landeskog and could offer a #1 and Hamonic…The price is lower for Landeskog than Duchene.
