The possible sale of the Senators throws an enormous monkey wrench into this situation...If Melnyk is indeed trying to sell the team, the value is much higher WITH Erik Karlsson as part of the portfolio...and remember, the Sens have him signed for this season...If Ottawa wants him to play this year for them he will....And remember they don't want to tank and give the first pick overall to Colorado.....which you gave them for Matt Duchene who is ALSO not a done deal to sign an extension in Ottawa...and he will be a UFA a year from now as well...
On Tavares...
It is sounding like Tavares is closing in on a decision...and the longer it goes, the less likely it is the NY Islanders... No one knows but Tavares at this point and he may not even know yet...If he starts eliminating one team at a time tomorrow, as is being projected by Pierre LeBrun, then the Islanders become a long shot. If it is the Islanders you eliminate everyone else all at once. The Islanders will be the most money....If it is not the Islanders, then let's say it comes down to Toronto and San Jose..then the agent will talk to the teams about what can differentiate each other...
On Ryan Reaves...
A whole slew of teams were impressed by Reaves, and he has already met with a few...including St Louis. Vegas would love to bring him back, but maybe not at the price he will demand....His value has never been higher, but Vegas needs his size as was seen in the Final.....The Islanders, Ducks, and Canes are all in on Reaves...

Hearing Detroit is seriously looking at Bernier as a 1A for Howard..

There is talk that either/or Lucic and Klefbom could be heading to Arizona...
