Throughout the 2018-19 season, both here on HockeyBuzz and via the Philadelphia Flyers website and Flyers Radio 24/7 as well as social media -- I will track the progress of Flyers' prospects in junior and collegiate hockey as well as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
As anyone who follows prospects and NHL Draft candidates can attest, it's a massive undertaking to track multiple leagues simultaneously, even in terms of keeping track of who is playing on a given night. Each year, I create a daily calendar of games of interest.
This coming season, the Flyers only have five prospects in the CHL (four in the Ontario Hockey League and one in the Western Hockey League); none of whom play in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. On the flip side, a record number of Flyers prospects will play U.S. collegiate hockey in 2018-19.
I got a big assist from Matt Kardos, who was referred to me by Bill Clement, in pulling together all of the related schedule links for my use. He saved me a lot of online legwork to collect all the links I needed to pull together the schedules for each team. I figured that the one-stop collection of schedule links may also be of interest to some readers.
Note: I did not include a schedule for Russian goalie Kirill Ustimenko (Dinamo St. Petersburg) because it is undetermined how much, if any, time he spends this season with the parent team in the VHL (Russian minor league) and how often he will dress for the junior team in the VHL. Likewise, goalie Ivan Fedotov could see time as a VHL starter for Toros Neftekamsk or a KHL backup for Salavat Yulaev Ufa. Lastly, 24-year-old Severstal Cherepovets (KHL) defenseman Valeri Vasiliev's NHL rights technically still belong to the Flyers, who drafted him in 2012) but he is unlikely to ever be signed.
