Game 1 - Det Wins 4-3 - Forsberg Out-Budaj in-Theo at Hotel

Ahh the Octupus delay in Game one. The Refs are shovelling the debri from the Octupus and now the puck is to be dropped in historic Joe Louis!

The Biggest News for the start of the game is Forsberg is out with a groin injury. McCormick replaces him in the line-up

Stastny scores the first goal from Smyth and Hejduk, and Zetterberg answers. All tied up at 1

Theo can't find the rebound an

Avs Advance to Round 2. Way to Go!

Congratulations to the Avs!

What a great, nail-biter of a game.

Unbelievable play by all 4 lines. The Avs kept this game simple and out worked, out coached and out goaltended the Wild.

The Avs are now the first team in the West to advance and will be waiting to see who is next.

Theo definately gets the MVP for the series

...Let's hear from all of you...

Great Job

Suprise Suprise. Avs and Wild go to OT - Wild Win!

- Avs go with same lineup

- David Jones is in the lineup and is looking good early, he set up Smyth early in the game but was stopped by Backstrom

- Stastny Receives a minor for highsticking Keith Carney, could have easily been a double minor

- Theo looks sharp with his rebound control on the powerplay.

- Andrew Brunette scores off a rebound off Backstrom's pad. A nice play by Wols

Avs get split in Minnesota. Battle continues Monday in Colorado

Many of the Hockey Pundit’s predicted this series would be a boring series and boy have they been proved wrong. This has been a hard fought typical brand of playoff hockey. Very close and every shift is a battle. We all knew that these teams are so close in many areas and its been showing thus far.

After the Sakic heroics in OT in Game One, it looked like the Avs were going to have anothe

Huge Second Period Leads Avs to Win and Seventh in West

Two great periods lead to a huge win for the Avs. In an offensive breakout where the Avs ran Luongo out of the nets tonight, the Avs may have found a dream line with loads of potential and talent. Coach Q tried Forsberg on three lines in the first period and then found a combination of Forsberg, Hejduk and Stastny who combined for 9 points in the 6-3 victory. This line was absolutely amazing.

Best Foot Forward - Avs Win 3-2 in OT

It's all the about Foot(e) for the Avs.

If Peter Forsberg's Foot holds up, the Avs have a Hall of Famer player who can no doubt help the Avs reach the playoffs and maybe further. I think this is a much different situation than last year in Nashville, because Foppa is comfortable with these surroundings, he knows the area, knows the coach and the organization. Not having to deal with an adj

Stastny Could Play Tuesday

With the trade deadline 16 days away, what do the Avs do? Foppa?

The Avs trade deadline acquisition could end up being nothing more than taking Sakic and Smyth (Stastny could be back Tuesday) of the IR. And what an acquisition this would be. Just imagine if any team in the league would be able to acquire two players like that. In reality, the Avs will be this team. Thanks to the exceptio
