I said it last year and I will repeat it today. If Raymond is part of our top 6 we have 0 chance of winning the cup.

The league has made is very clear over the years that the NHL playoffs are no place for the game of hockey.

Are you seriously complaining about the state of hockey in the playoffs? Com'on man, it's been the same way for 100 years. By now GM's should know how to build their teams accordingly. If they don't then the least they can do is not complain about it.

I don't get it. This is the hockey that we've seen for years--- get the puck deep, cycle and create chance in-zone. "Exciting" run-and-gun hockey gets you nowhere.

While you're at it take him to see the Wizard for some courage .

You will get all kinds of responses in a few days. When Luongo and Raymond go to the Panther for Versteeg, and Up Shaw/Kopecky.

Hello, interested in Mr. Luongo? Perhaps Keith Ballard or apparently we have Mason Raymond who is a steal...?

It's not even that, teams have shown you can win with skill. Pittsburgh, Detroit, etc. You just need enough of it and some spine to complement it.

Its clear what has to be done here. I know the fans of the Canucks love these guys because they are so good and offer os many intangibles, but maybe for the sake of getting further ahead, I propose this completely original deal:

Raymond, Ballard, and a 2nd for Bobby Ryan.

I know, I know, you all are going to get upset that you give up so much awesome but in this case, it might be worth it.

As you were.

That sir is an exceptional take. I could easily see the Leafs wanting to acquire Raymond to really add balance to their top 9 forwards. he brings speed to burn and the ability to become a high end third line offensive dynamo while keeping the game exciting for the fans. I look forward to responding on more of your takes. Just don't beg for it, it makes you sound like... well, Ian.

I wouldn't mind seeing what Raymond can do with a strong off season. He didn't have one and was coming off a major injury last year. He had his worst year and he can only go up. Get his value up than trade him. When he was on in his 25 goal form he was easily worth a first. let's see if he can get back to that.

It's not even necessarily defensive hockey, its just being constantly in top gear amd willing to battle through the guy who isn't giving you the space you'd have in the regular season....Nucks fans get all sour because Kesler and Burrows are the only fwds who can play with enough determination to make things happen in the playoffs.

You need to see a skill player who fights like this? Take a peek at Anze Kopitar or Ilya Kovalchuk. The game is not the issue, your roster is
