How mind blowing would it be if every part of this poop show somehow came together in the next week or two and it all made sense?!

Unfortunately when you look into his eyes you can see there's nothing more complex going on back there....

an adendum here would be a lose is a lose and they are 70-63 with markov not very much more then a 500 team and add the playoff games with markov in those seasons and I bet it is probably even closer to 500.

They are 500 team.

Why are you in such an angry mood? What are you expecting from a hockey team? Yes, from 07-08 to 10-11, the Habs are slightly above .500 (considering an OT loss is a LOSS) ... They are at .521 or so. The fun fact of this is, the red hot RedWings, who are contenders every year, are at .590 ... They have 25 more wins than the Canadiens in the 4 seasons. It is a lot, but we've had crappy years of late.

Lets take 2007 out of the equation. The Canadiens are .504, the RedWings are .577... Again Yes we are a .500 team, but the best teams arn't that far off either.

That being said, when Markov is healthy, they are at .551, when he is not healthy, they are at .445... That is a major impact.

Like it or not, he is a quality player that makes the difference. As for getting back to where he was at, the only impact it should make is if he is scared to go in the corners, or of any phisical contact. If he isn't, the skating will be top shape as it was before he underwent arthroscopic surgery. He was practicing with the team, and looked like his old self.

I'm sure if Tom Brady can get to the Super Bowl after 3 knee surgeries, no reason to why Markov couln't still be good.

Can't believe you guys gave "Mr.Markov" another 5.75m per for year for not one. Not two. Three more years!!! Knowing his knee was done.

The team needs to move on.

Habs "moving on" didn't work so well last couple of time they tried it. See Ribeiro, or Grabovski, or Latendresse or even Sergei K for that matter.

You could argue those players had attitude or effort issues in Montreal that countered their abilities on the ice. Markov has none of those, on the contrary he's a leader and an exemple, so at least dont give up on him yet before seeing what he's actually still capable to do.

Well if Markov can stand in the pocket and make hail mary passes all night long i'm sure he will totally put the habs over the top.

Markov won't be the same as he was before his knee injuries. He will be pretty much Thomas Kaberle when he gets back. A guy that can make a good first pass and not much else.

Markov is basically coming back from retirement if he ever does come back. That's how long it's been since he played a stretch of meaningful games. We all know the player is never the same as he once was in those situations.

Markov has always been grittier and better positionally.

it's his mobility I worry about, skating in a straight line is fine, but every time he trys to change direction too fast could be another blown tire.

When you have the first ACl surgery you have about a 90% chance it will be Good as new, when you tear the reconstructed knee that percentage drops under 50%.

The numbers are not exact but they are in that range, and a pro athlete should be able to get close to as good as new, but after Markovs "rehab" last summer I don't trust he knows what the (frank) he is doing.

He needs to come back before season's end so habs know what they have and make the right moves during the summer... this time.

Also, I knew all that, cause I'm a doctor. My location says so.

He hasn't played in over 2 years now, and he is now 33 years old. Its the fact of life dude. Hes getting older, with a bad knee, and the game is getting faster. There is no way in hell he will be able to do what he did 3 or 4 years ago.

Not being as good as he was doesn't mean he will be useless. That's what I'm trying to say in these last posts. If Markov is 90 % of his old self, that's still better than most of our others D. Nobody know how much effectiveness he will lose, if he even does. He could still be better than many a D in this league. If we don't try him, we will never know.
