I hope Alfie and Heater get back ASAP for your guys.

That's just to much of a loss to overcome.

Now McGratton's hurt as well, when it rains it pours.

Holy jumpin'.

This team is obviously offensively shorthanded.

No reason why a farmhand with some skill shouldn't get a chance. Zubov, Nikulin, Foligno. You can't replace Alfredsson and Heatley by hoping 3rd and 4th line talent can overachieve for the next few games. Vermette, Kelly, Bass, Mcammond, Schubert, Donovan, Robitaille, Neil. All 3rd line players with 3rd line talent and hands.

Except Fisher and Spezza, based on productivity. who deserves power-play time or first line time on this team right now?

And Gerber has never been the answer any place else. He's not the answer right now. The team is horrible in front of him, but he should make a key save now and then, do something to help the team stay in the game, with its lack of scoring. He looked horrible with his ass to the puck on the 4th goal.

4 goals on 14 shots, maybe 6 quality scoring chances. No team can win when the goalie can't make a big save now and then. What did Tortalini say about his goalies in the 2006 playoffs? Same thing applies to Gerber.

.....and emery is in the nets.

Gerber's fragile self-image gets another blow. Two times in two games against Philly.

Let's hope Philly doesn't face us in the playoffs. Or Washington, for that matter.

Emery, great save on a SH 3-1chance, and the rebound, and Schubie can't win a battle.....and then another chance in the high slot.

5-1.

With Alfie in the game -- I am sure the out come may be a bit different -- but still a Flyer win -- As Much as people hate to say it -- The Flyers have 3 great lines -- thier problem lies in thier D -- But if you can score 6 and only give up 5 -- then you have a winner

I really wish Stevens would of just buried them -- to let the NHL -- we take no prisoners

you guys got a good team. would be a hell of a matcheup in the playoffs. tonight was a disaster cause this looks like an ahl team. we are a 1 line team, and 2 players of that line arent there, the two better players of the line. i think this is good tho, to be horribly embarassed like this, because it just shows murray how bad our team is after alffy-spezz-heatley-fish offensively. murray may finally be more pressed to make a trade for a big offensive top 6 guy. then we may be a great contender, but if other teams shut our 1st line down, we all know guys like vermette arent going to put it in. he scored 2 games ago, now hes not gonna score for another 8 games as he seems to go on 10 goaless game streaks consistently.

murray bring us hossa, foppa or sundin !!

yeah, that was a tough game for the Sens to win missing those 2 guys.

no excuse from the depth tho to be embarassed like that. guys like robitaille - vermette - mcammond - eaves (altho coming back from an injury) have got to start waking up offensively or they can get packaged for someone who will

Who knows it could have been a blessing in disguise.

Last season was the best thing that could have happened to the Flyers, at the time it sure didn't feel like it.

Alfie will be back Tuesday, he'll have the team playing again.

Hopefully this forces Murray's hand to pull the trigger on a trade(s). Our defensive corps are not hitting and are generally playing horribly. There is a lack of intensity from the forwards driving to the net. It is pathetic. The goaltenders were hung out to dry on several occasions and will certainly be blamed by the media for the loss.

Funny thing is that the Flyers are reportedly leading the Foppa sweepstakes if they can find a way to fit him in. That would push our three scoring lines to damn near four scoring lines.

I don't get why people are down on the Flyers defense. Granted they're not the Ducks back their but Timonen, Coburn and Smith are very good. Hatcher can be good in a limited role. That leaves Jones who started great but has tailed off since his suspension, Kukkonen who is solid but unspectacular and Vandermeer. That's not much of a weakness in my opinion.

Its good to see when the senators loose a couple great players there team just falls apart, they got completly outplayed and outworked, this team needs depth if there gonna play without there top 3

I understand Ottawa didn't have Alfredsson and Heatley tonightbut the Sens have no depth and average goaltending. Wade Redden is the most overrated defenseman in the East. I can't believe for one second that Ottawa is the class of the East. They are a one line team.

I don't understand Ottawa's reluctance to going out and getting players with grit and toughness.

For what it's worth, the Flyers didn't have Lupul tonight.

The Flyers alway beat the Sens in Ottawa with Alfie and Heatly in the lineup and no Gagne.

The common theme in both games....Nitty!
