That's actually a really accurate adjective for the Mild. They're just boring and are in limbo. Decent enough to sneak into playoffs, but no where near able to compete for the Cup.

Hard to put this whole draft on fenton, he stated earlier that flahr would be running the draft for him. Im not fan of their first pick either, but seeing some of the other guys they picked is where things changed to me. It seemed like fenton was trusting of his guys to make the first pick, then said ok, im going to step in here with the others. The other guys they took seemed less "safe", and more higher reward type guys.

I think we should wait to be too critical of fenton yet, he has yet to make any roster moves. Ill give him this year before i make any real judgements

Honestly, yes. They're good but nothing exciting about them.

Honestly they are a hard working team that has some success but what is their identity? They always just sort of seem to be there. Vanilla seems to be the best description. They don't seem to have that spark to the team or a couple players that really identify the team itself.

The Suter and Parise moves made them interesting, Dubnyk came out of nowhere but that ship has sailed, the Eric Staal resurrection was kind of cool but other than that pretty run of the mill, could be worse though

Fenton comparing drafting Filip Johansson to drafting Ryan Suter was so f*%king insulting. He's already full of crap. Get rid of Brent Flahr already!!! For the love of God, get rid of that entire scouting staff! We need a whole new perspective on this team. We don't need guys who feel a loyalty towards the current players. If they were gonna throw a 1st round pick away on a "safe" top 6 D-man type of player than why not go for one with some actual talent???

Well clearly you're thinking of the days of Jacques Lemaire. Wild aren't the most exciting team on the ice, but they're no where near "boring".
