It is not stupid at all. Flyers are not looking to make trades. Yes things can change but that applies to literally any rumour or fact. GMs say players are untouchable when that exact rule applies, an offer could come in that blows them out of the water. It was reported that OEL had a verbal agreement to sign, that could change easily. How many rumours do you think could have actually gone through if something did not happen to change it? We have seen trades made only to be nixed by players at the last second.
