Would probably start with both our firsts (since they don't have pick until the 4th round), a defensive prospect ready to make the jump (Myers), and maybe a B level prospect.
Not sure I would pull the trigger but he would look good in the O&B and is RH! |

Calgary GM says Hamilton is NOT being shopped according to TSN. |

The 2 1sts would be great but it doesn’t at all address our need for a top 6 RW. I would think CGY would want Simmons as part of the deal. |

Listening to offers and discussing options isn't shopping. |

19th, Simmonds, and Myers? |

We've already heard about Calgary's interest in Lindholm and that maybe Hanifin could be involved in a larger deal to acquire Hamilton from the Flames. What might that look like? Is there any chance to pry the #2 from Carolina?
Hamilton, Fox/Kylington, Ferland
4
Lindholm, Skinner, Hanifin/Faulk
Or
Hamilton, Fox/Kylington, Bennett
4
Lindholm, Hanifin/Faulk, #2

There's zero chance Carolina is trading their pick to Calgary unless Gaudreau or Monahan is going back the other way.

Finding a taker(shouldn't be hard) for Fox may be important today. He might not ever have higher value as a Calgary asset. He can see the path to the NHL is through a lot of guys up on the defence depth chart. After this upcoming season, he can simply choose to be an UFA and have this pick as to where to play.
His prospects of playing in the NHL immediately go up exponentially if he's a Hurricane or a Sabre. |

Faulk for Hamilton....is the only trade I'd entertain with CAL. |

If Carolina resigns Hanifin and van Riemsdyk, they have even more of a defensive log jam than the Flames.

If they could get Carolina's #2 pick, would you take Svechnikov, or talk to Montreal about swapping #2 and #3 plus gaining one of their four 2nd rounders and take Tkachuk in the #3 spot? |

If they sign those 2 they'll have 5 defencemen signed for this year. I disagree with your assessment.

There's no question you take Svechnikov. For whatever reason, fans are really underrating him. There's even an argument to be made that he should go number one.
The gap between him and Dahlin is minuscule if there even is one. The gap after that is massive. |

They'd have those five signed, who are all 26 or younger and arguably all better than the Flames bottom pairing, then they also have Fleury, Carrick, and Bean on the way.

No way Canes give up that #2.Svechnikov is exactly what they need just as much as we do. But if Tre could extract Lindholm & Hanafin & maybe even eeek out a 2nd out of them, that would be a deal he probaby should do.

I absolutely agree on Svechnikov, however, the prospect of recouping a second round pick appealed to me as well. Taking Tkachuk, Zadina, or Kotkaniemi plus a pick in the second round, seemed worth contemplating.

The last time there were two players of this calibre going 1-2 was 2016. Sure Tkachuk was an awesome addition for the Flames, but no one would rather have Tkachuk and a second instead of Matthews or Laine.

Think you're mistaken Ek. Hamilton is not in play at all according to Treliving. Hamonic however is. |
