God, I hope this is true.

Logically this makes sense as the Isles need a top pairing dman. Karlsson though is more of a offensive player but paired with a Leddy could be a force. 2 first rounders in a deep draft and maybe a prospect could get it done but Isles would need assurances Karlsson is going to stay past next season. Even though the Isles have a ton of cap room, assuming JT takes about 11M a season and a new legit starting goalie (Grubauer?) gets around 4M the Isles would need to jettison some players to relieve their cap situation. It is doubtful Cizikas, Clutterbuck or Ladd will go unless the Isles give up draft picks in the deal. It may force the Isles to dump Nelson (fine by me) or even someone such as Bailey.

I don't think any player as great as Karrlsssonn would enjoy playing for the Islanders
