If you're Bergevin, what would be enough to convince you to lose your 30 goal scorer/team captain? We're speculating 15th ovrl + what?
Mathesson + 15th + prospect or big 6'6" center?
I know there's a lot of noise around Pacciorety but let's face it, it doesnt make a lot of sense to trade him unless you get A LOT in return, agree? |

If Montreal trades him, they better send him far, far away, in another galaxy.
p.s. the return had better be good. |

People seem to forget the Montreal canadiens have 3 NHL goalie prospect in McNiven, Lindgren and Fucale. They also have 4 2nd rd pick, several top 6 Dmen and tons of bottom 6 fowards. Those are all tools to negociate with playoff contender teams that need to shed some salary/complete their lineup. Also a lot of good teams don't have any good goalie prospects. I think Bergevin will suprise a lot of people with his dangling of the situation. (As always). |

1 year left on his deal before he is UFA, might not have the value some expect |

The more important thing is not to be desperate to trade him, in that case it's sure you will have a bad return.
In the worst case you keep a prolific scorer for 4.5 mill for one year which you can still resign. Not the end of the world. |

Woops, well I guess Fucale was kind of just to convince my point was solid, better luck next time.
Still, my guess is Pacciorety would better be off in a 3 way trade. As Bergevin could leverage a trade for a nhl ready player 1st rnd than flip the 1st rnd for another key player. All this is based on the fact Bergevin said he doenst want to sacrifice his team future again, he wants young key pieces that can help the team in the long run. |

might have more value at the trade deadline if there are not a lot of takers.
I think they want a 1st round pick and a solid prospect and they have a hard time getting that for 1 year of tampatch |

If you want to solidy your point on Habs goalie depth, just add names like Hayden Hawkey and Primeau, who so far, all look really really good. |
