That ROR trade is three of the following: good, bad, ugly, or stupid

That's awesome Bill. Great write up. I hope you didn't have another "elevator" moment with Clarke ;-)

He knows who I am now, which is a pretty humbling thing to someone who grew up idolizing him as my first sports hero.

Nope. Bokk is more the type the Flyers typically do not prioritize in first round of draft, unless their scouting assessment of his commitment to a 200-foot game and willingness to venture inside the perimeter is different than others who question those facets of his game.

Rubstov has already been drafted by the Flyers. Don't really know what you're getting at here

I’d want a touch of retained salary even if the Flyers have to give a little more.

ROR is a solid player, decent age just stuck on a poop club.

Bill, do the Flyers have 9 or 10 draft picks this year? Different sites are listing 9 or 10. Draftsite.com lists 10 with 3 in the 7th round, 1 in the 6th, 2 in the 5th, 1 in the 4th and 2nd rounds and 2 in the 1st round. No 3rd pick which went to Detroit. Thanks

2 picks in 7th round. The Straka conditional pick from NJ will stay with NJ.

The guy you're thinking of at #19 is probably Isac Lundestrom. He's a center, but can also play left wing. He's got good hockeysense, and plays a 200 foot game. My concern with him is his ceiling with his offensive abilities, and offensive projection. He seems like a safe pick to me, And Hextall said at the press conference that he doesn't like safe prospects. their has to be projectability their.

Lundeström has some offensive upside, too. A bit like Hayton, that aspect if his skill aet gets underrated, although I doubt he will be a huge scorer. Also like Hayton, a bit of skating improvement would go a long way.

Yes. Originally went with Berggren based on personal preference but, after Hexy PC, switched to Lundeström because he fits what Hextall said they value. Very competitive player, plays a 200-foot game, has a bit more offensive upside than some think. Several Luleå games were on Eleven Network this season, and IL played well in all games I saw as well as at WJC.

Bill-Since Lundestrom would be your pick at 19, would 14th be too high for K'Andre Miller, or do you think they go forward at 14th-either Farabee or Kravtsov?

Miller was my pick at 14. Had Farabee off the board (to Dallas) before he could get to Flyers. Florida is rumored to have interest in Miller at 15th, BTW.

"Melnyk finally convinced Allen to select the player (Clarke) who became arguably the single most important figure in team history."

Who in their right mind would argue this?

BTW, great write up about Clarke, Bill.

What would you have given up for either Domi or Galchenyuk. Two good young players needing a change of scenery I guess. Be interesting to hear your takes if you thought we even could use either of the two.

19th overall and a 3rd or 4th for Domi. Felt like he would've been a great fit with Patrick.
