Chucky with 60+ points next season playing center. Domi with ~40 points and tire tracks on his back from the bus. Welcome to Montreal!

This trade isn't nearly as bad as lots of people are making it sound. Domi might never be a 30 goal scorer, but he's better in pretty much every other facet of the game. He was also stuck playing for one of the worst coaches the NHL has ever seen last year.

It'll be interesting to see what they do at the draft. They have a ton of picks and are primed to make a big move.

So when does MB send us the 3rd overall pick and Mete for Faulk and half a burrito? Oops, forgot the 35th and 38th are likely involved too, my mistake.

Trashers front office 2.0 will be waiting by the phones.

Pretty good trade actually. Galchenyuk is a turnover machine, and he’s really soft on the boards. Very talented but that’s not enough. Domi is very talented but also brings a solid defensive game and he’s rugged not afraid to get his hands dirty. Gonna thrive in a hockey town like Montreal

Anybody who thinks MB could have gotten a top C or a top D for Galchenyuk is smoking some good poop. Habs really lucky to get a younger player that can play in the top 6 and has a well rounded game

Anyone who thinks making a pointless (at best lateral) trade for another 3rd line winger / has-been center-converted-to-winger who will now be asked to play 2nd line center, can be identified as someone that regularly walks into concrete walls head-first as their main hobby.

EDIT: Obviously, without a helmet.

I thought you were done? I guess you need to be put in your place a little more. Did you prefer the Habs lose Galchenyuk as a UFA in 2 years? Because he would have wanted Evander Kane money. You ready to pay 7 x 7 for Galchenyuk? I’d rather domi at 5 x 4 mil.

Why are you assuming the Habs will play Domi at C? He’s Galchenyuk’s replacement on LW. The summer hasn’t even started yet MB has plenty of time to get a C.

And if you think Domi is a 3rd line winger you obviously only watch the habs. Try to watch some other teams every now and then and you might know a little more about what you’re talking about.

I'm not a fan of Galchenyuk but I'm not sure I'm a fan of this trade either. 9 goals eh? Is he a real center?

1st season 18 goals

Maybe he just had an off year

2nd year wasn't bad either

just a 3rd year stump

I think Bergevin made the trade during the night so we don't notice it was done.

I don't think he has played center since his pre-OHL days, if ever. Too undersized to play center without getting pushed around.

I think you're spot on with this one Brandon.
I like this trade.
Never understood how a 50 pts scorer with 0 idea what to do in his own zone can get so much love,

I don’t think this is a bad trade value wise, but Domi is a passing winger, and the Habs have plenty of that, but no centres.

Seems like poor asset management.
