Willie D was in over his head in the NHL, Tryamkin playing 16 mins while Hutton/Stetcher/Sbisa played 20 mins per game was stupid.

I wish Tryamkin wasn't such a female dog about it, but WD still deserves criticism for being dumb with his coaching decisions. The man was using Sutter like he was prime Kesler lol.

I'd gladly take him back, he has more upside than Hutton/Stetcher/Pouliot/Sautner/Brisebois

Where do you think he'd slot in on the 2018 Canucks?
(summer dreaming)

edit: So you've got him behind Edler, Tanev, Guds and MDZ ?

- dbot

To me it’s wide open after Edler and Tanev. Gud and MDZ have not played like legit top 4 dmen in Vancouver. 2nd and 3rd pairingice time should be up for grabs in camp. If Tryamkin has improved in Russia, I could see him being better than at least 1 of those 2 guys.

Behind Edler & Tanev. Everything else is garbage.

When he left, I was optimistic they would draft his replacement in a projected top-4, but they haven't. I would happily plug him back into a top 4 spot given the bleak outlook behind Juolevi

Maturity is at least something people eventually grow into. Going back to the KHL and returning more suited to NHL play is not a rare thing

- WhiteLie

For sure. Radulov is a great example.

Could still happen.
I was just reading an article about Nichushkin (sp?) finishing his contract in the KHL and in negotiations to return to Dallas.

I'd think a top 4 slot would be his to loose on this current team, who knows what things would look like in a few years time...

If he were to come over and play well he could probably be slotted right into the 2nd pairing. He and Stecher might make a good combo until Dobson is ready to join the team

Gudbranson is the only one under contract for when he's eligible to return. I would bet he's watching closely whether the Canucks move on from Edler/Tanev, and how they fill the top 4 in the next couple years. Potentially a large void to fill

I was reading an article the other day that said the KHL taught Kovalchuk the importance of team play and now he's ready to win in the NHL

Yeah.
I was just positing about if Tree came back this year (won't happen), where would he slot in.

It's a HB miracle, as everyone agreed he'd be top 4 today...not sure if coach Green is using a burner account here tho.

Trade Tanev and give his money to Tryamkin, front loaded so he can buy out his KHL contract.

Ovechkin's been drunk for a week, he's gonna have a helluva hangover

Quotes ain't workin Leftcoaster! They don't call it a Hangover any more, now it's called a Hangovie!

And I believe the reason for that is because they have continually tried the quick fix. The true rebuild starts today. Giving up 1st round picks for players more ready to play will only continue this misery.
- 1970vintage

You say the rebuild starts today another person said the rebuild started when Bo was picked.

If Wahlstrom Kohk are there I am keeping the pick

If it is Dobson Bouchard I am open for business

He was a borderline #4 when he was here before. Had stretches of being 4, 5, and 6 when he finally got into the lineup. For all his mistakes, he was at least able to compensate with his size and strength, which has been missing from this team IMO
