I've seen all of these guys play to some degree (on tv, not in person). Some I've only seen clips, some I've seen multiple games. I've also read at least 5 or 6 scouting reports on each player by different sources and from all of the above, I come up with my rankings. I have these guys, and a few more all ahead of Foudy for a variety of reasons, but, for the most part, it just comes down to the guys ahead of him, IMO, either have significantly higher ceilings or a significantly better chance of reaching their ceiling than Foudy does. - BiggE

I want the home run swing pick. high ceiling. if you miss oh well it happens. They can for lack of a better word, miss on one since the system is looking much better. this is the time to take a gamble on someone imo
as someone said no more laughton, safe picks in the first round.

question for Bill, or anyone else that has heard rumblings....the Flyers seem to ALWAYS pick a guy in the 12-28 range that jumps out at first as a head scratcher...but later on looks like a solid pick. I wonder who "that" guy is next week...

Yes. Almost always someone projected as a consensus 2nd rounder. I’m expecting that with pick 19. This year it wouldn’t be a surprise whatsoever I bet teams boards are all over the place. Which is why I can’t wait for it

I could see Jonatan Berggren at 19 but I actually see more of a chance of 19 being moved to either get a youngish NHL vet like Sam Bennett to be a 3rd line center or they trade back and get more assets.

At the tail end of my career, I really, genuinely thought that I was going to die one night during the season. It’s hard to talk about, for sure, but … I had stayed up late doing an obscene amount of coke and things just got out of control. After a while my heart felt like it was going to burst out of my chest. I couldn’t get it to slow down. Nothing I did worked. It was probably the most scared I’ve ever been in my life.
I was playing for the Flyers at the time, and we had a morning skate I needed to be at in a few hours. So it was either go to the hospital and check in without anyone noticing or getting word about what had gone down, and then somehow get my ass to practice in the morning … or tell the trainer what had happened and try to make a change.
I (frank)ing told the trainer.
Somehow I landed on the right call. And that was absolutely huge for me.
The Flyers and Paul Holmgren, who was the GM in Philly at the time, didn’t judge me or make me feel like an outcast when they found out. They sent me to rehab and pledged their support. They looked out for me. Even though I hadn’t been looking out for myself.
And to this day, I honestly believe Paul saved my life back then.
One thing I noticed is the lack of separation between hockey related hits, and pre-existing brain issues. I’ve dealt with family members who have faced similar challenges, so it’s a little closer to home than most people. There are people whom have never been hit on the head that face the same challenges. Sometimes the hits exacerbate pre-existing issues, and sometimes it’s the damage solely from brain trauma, or even the drug and alcohol abuse. Therein lies the distinctions. Until players seek out all the available help, in all three specialties, and the league has all those available resources in place, we will keep seeing more Steve Montador’s or Nick Boynton’s.
What I’m trying to say is, Nick Boynton finally sees the light at the end of the tunnel from a Psychologist, not a neurosurgeon or Rehab Clinic. Every person’s journey is different, and trying to hide it, or simplify it, does a disservice for all those affected.
The thing that maybe I’m missing is karlssons wife in the complaint mentioned twice that Hoffmans fiance “uttered” these thing on several occasions. That means someone heard her say it. How are they missing this in every discussion?
