It sounds like the Karlssons have figured it out.

Karlsson's tweet (in reply to the disgusting tweet we all know about):

“How dare you. You have been making fake accounts and buying hacked ones for months to harass me and my wife but this is an all new low even for you. You are a disgusting person.”

The "buying hacked ones" leads me to believe that they've done some cyber-investigating.

It's not as easy as we think;

Investigator; Did you create the burner accounts on twitter and instagram to bully Melinda and Erik Karlsson?

Monika Caryk: No

Investigator: Well, her story checks out, she said no..

There must be ways to trace accounts to internet accounts etc....can't be that difficult....supposedly we put men on the moon.

I dont think that is exactly accurate. They do know what damages the brain, you make it seem like they have no idea. They know that high impacts to the head causes trauma, and that concussions cause brain damage.

Little bumps are likely not an issue, if they are we wont be able to do any exercises any more...

- Archaic

they do know to an extent of course. Apparently womens hockey has an even higher concussion rate..which is not exactly known why for sure.. there is a lot that is unknown at this point because you can only look a brains from people who have died. once they can find it in living then things will change

Well, Twitter might have to provide access to do tracing back to her, which they likely would not. So it's not always easy if she covered her tracks(fake email accounts, and phone number and etc.)

hey guys, a little detour from the EK story.

My son has been playing rep soccer now for 4yrs. This year I see him on the bench
a lot. I was getting upset that he wasn't playing at least half the game not just 15 minutes out of the whole 90 minutes. I've been thinking to talk to the coach about it. I don't want to be that parent but I feel he's not using his bench properly and rotating who starts. To me this would give the kids a chance to play. Last night my son was upset about his playing time.
He plays as a defender and from what I've seen he's good at it. Should I approach the coach and asking why he's not rotating his starting line up or should be silent.

"society has a short term memory." Pretty general - not sure it is accurate, in this case we are talking about Rogers/Sportnet specifically is not society. Gregg Zaun was dumped faster than a Trump lie by sportsnet - for offending people with his "sexist jock comments" There was no trial - there was an investigation. I agree with their decision, but it has no teeth if this is a precedent. So, it would be hypocrisy to look the other way with Voynov, Hoffman and Osuna.

On Osuna you are correct he hasn't been found guilty - the 3 or 4 extensions of the administrative leave plus his failure to defend himself publicly - is a bad look. No injury on the current roster could have hurt the Jays worse than this.

- winsix

Zaun was personality of a sports broadcasting channel that sexually harrassed women. Not an athlete whos wife harrassed another woman.
For athletes, fans memories are short when it comes to off field events and specially if said athlete can help their team win.

Fair comment... but given what other people have said it certainly seems likely.

Agreed.
But guilty in the publics eye and actually guilty are different.

A random schmo on reddit could just dox her in 50 minutes, no matter how hard she tried to cover it up.

Maybe, there are things she could do however, but based on who she is I doubt she is smart enough to know what those things are.

I haven't had to deal with this as a parent yet but if you want to ask the coach about it you could frame it in a way that isn't accusatory/confrontational.

Something like "Hey coach, I've noticed Jimmy's playing time has really been reduced lately. Is there anything in particular you think he needs to work on in order to get back in the game more? He's been upset lately about not getting more minutes and really wants to get back into the game but doesn't know the best way to go about it."

Good luck.

As a parent, you have every right to ask the coach questions.

Just be respectful.

How many other kids are sitting? Its rep soccer so i assume its no longer about equal playing time for all and for fun. Its about winning. Maybe the coach feels he has better players?
Dont approach the coach with why isnt my kid playing more, approach it as what can my son do to improve to get more playing time.

Advise the coach that certain friends of your family would be very disappointed to see little Jimmy continue to have reduced minutes. Let him know that those same friends really like the coach's mother and feel it would be a shame if something were to happen to her.
