yes. Does the time he takes (development) make the draft place null and void? It doesn't.

Don’t misunderstand my point. I’ve been talking about Pulock on the PP since they had Frans on the point. My point was that even when they have a talent, they didn’t know how to develope said talent. I highly doubt Pulock was learning much from Capuano part deux in Bport.

Let me also add that Pulock now, looked just like the Pulock a few years ago in the playoffs. This development excuse isn’t flying with me. For whatever reason they sandbagged the kid, and went with Mayfield and Pelech.

oh yes. Sorry, I misunderstood. Yes terrible handling. Cappy was terrible with kids and made them self-conscious of every mistake. Hurt Strome's dev as well.

Only for this year since it was the first year Adidas made the jerseys. Don't worry, the Islanders are slated for a new 3rd jersey that you can pretty much be positive will look like an abortion with sleeves

This leaked out, it's a list of teams that will have third jerseys

I just read Sean Avery’s book. Whatever anyone thinks of him one thing he said that was most likely the case here. He talked about Torterella and how he couldn’t skate. He said he literally couldn’t skate and stick handle and guys at practice tuned him out as a result. They didn’t respect him. Now I’m not saying all coaches need to be able to skate or even play the game, but the respect thing is everything. If i had a prof NHL coach telling me what to do whilst wearing a shirt with a 22 inch collar on an 18 in Neck, I’m probably gonna tune him out too.

2012 draft.. most of us on here wanted Dumba or Trouba. We took Reinhardt.. I don't remember one of us talking about him going up to draft. No one.. and we all knew the prospects pretty well by that time.

In 2011 I wanted Couturier if he fell to us.. most wanted Dougie Hamilton. No one mentioned strome... no one.

in 2010 we all wanted Connolly and I was in love with Skinner and his 50+ goals in juniors. Once again no one mentioned Nino.

Maybe we should all do the draft.

someone wanted Cam Fowler in 2010 too.. think he got hurt going into draft but said he can fly.

Cout was projected as the top pick in his draft the year earlier. Did not have a great season but was a very good 2 way center. I was talking to a friend of mine before draft and said I would love if he fell to us... he still brings it up. Great pick by flyers.

Fowler was the Nino draft (i think). I liked the Nino pick to be honest. Everyone got so juiced because they kept showing some one hand goal he had. He had talent. They just totally flubbed it up with him. Fireable offense if you ask me.

Couturier was a YUGE scoop

pretty annoying that we can make better decisions sitting at work watching youtubes and reading articles than Garth and his scouts.

For the record in this draft I absolutely love Brady Tkuchuk but think he will go top 3 not 5. If the isles can move up a few spots to grab Whahlstrom or Quentin Hughes it would be a solid move and prevent Rangers from getting them too. Whahl is a big strong kid with great skill. I would love that guy. If we keep one of our picks I hope we move up a few spots.

They flubbed it but not in the way most remember it. He should have been sent to juniors (Like Barzal and Bouv). Instead you have that rule where u are on the NHL team or juniors. He was given time on top lines. He was given a bunch of PP time and he was just not ready. He should not have been in NHL. the following year the plan was to have him learn in AHL and call him up. Instead of being an adult he and his agent whined like a btch so they traded him. He was never going to be what they hoped.. top 3 talent. He clearly didn't have the hands. still doesn't.

and just to show you that other teams do make mistakes (you guys are on revisionist history mode, it seems).... look at Tampa Bay right after Nino with Brett Connolly. Meanwhile in the 16th spot: Vladimir Tarasenko

Honestly, i think the isles have the shell. They just need to fill in certain areas. I’d love to see them trade ALL the picks and use them to address needs. They’re a way better team if they get a legit goalie, and a few other defensive holes.

Also in that draft drafted in the #3 spot... Erik Gudbranson. Ouch. A project with a lot of missing pieces. Florida ate the bar on that one.

https://www.draftsite.com/nhl/mock-draft/2011/s/ This was final mock draft going into that draft. I am still annoyed Devils won lottery (again) to move up 5 spots. Essentially cost us Larrson.
