Last I checked the rangers blocked a ton of shots in front of hank, now was that left over from torts I'm not sure but at least they did that - Upstate_isles
Yeah the players just kept playing the way their old coach liked with out their new coach having any say in it. |

Hey, the Isles played the same way for Weight just like they did for Crappy. So you can't completely discount that theory. |

When a v first got there it was said by actual announcers that the team was already used to blocking a ton of shots so a.v. left that part the same and changed the offense. Yes he made tweaks but he left the block anything you can part in place but you two know everything.
Pretty sure it was the rangers broadcast team too |

Hey, I'm agreeing with you. No need to get testy so early in the morning. |

They knew how to block shots sure but there's no way in hell the players just did what torts taught them while AV was coach without implementing it himself. Saying they blocked shots under av because of torts is pretty (frank)ing stupid IMO |

I thought AV did a very nice job with the Rangers, but if he does have any issues with young players, I do not want any more of that drama with Isles coaches and young players. I still think AV taking a year off to recharge is the best thing. I'm a little surprised some Isles fans are that high on the Isles naming him coach. |

Well between Girardi and their broadcast team saying we already know where to be to block shots from torts so we are leaving that part is something you should take up with those guys. Over time I'm sure it changed but that's how it started |

Im shocked at all the AV hate. The guy is light years better than any coach the isles have had since Laviolette. |

No hate from me. I think he is a good coach, I just rather have someone else. I think AV is better off taking off a year and coaching elsewhere and maybe a more Vet team. My order would be Trotz, Sutter, and then DJ Smith. |

The genius who wrote this article got his facts wrong. It was the Islanders, not the Rangers, who stopped the Penguins in 1993 from their "three-peat".
More importantly, another good coach is now unavailable. |

AV is OK. I think part of what you're witnessing is the influence of the Rags' fans who soured on him over the years. |

Not really past DJ Smith. Which Eklund has been citing. No word who has visited or who has been spoken to.
And As for rumors to tomorrow... nice if true. But let’s see what happens. Hard to predict how much rumors become reality when Lou slowly starting to control info lines... though would make sense to be done before draft. - B.D. Gallof
Isles coach will be announced this week. Seems highly likely before the draft itself. |
