Only about 8 or 9 months late to that party, (frank)nut

Better late than never I guess.

Oel 8x8

Another dream of mine crushed

Karlsson it is!

I guess we can’t make it package and get him and Hoffman anymore huh?

- HB77

Still cannot believe Arizona signed him to that. What a beaut of a deal.

I figured it’d be around there.

It’s a fair deal for both sides

Those are some good points, but unless we know exactly how many EV TOI minutes they play and exact injuries if applicable for each case, can be countered. I can look into it if you'd like.
Regardless, it is interesting to take note of and explore. When the Swedish HC that just won gold says that Larsson was a crucial component in their structure (played the 2nd most minutes behind OEL in Team Sweden with regards to defenders), generally highlighting his take on his offensive abilities and that he thinks that he is more than just a shutdown defender, it kinda makes you think about the situation we have with Larsson with regards to utilization.

And 8 of those points were scored with McDavid on the ice. 5 were secondary assists and 3 were goals.

One would think Edmontons recent history with regards to their blueline would cause people to question the utilization a bit more than the players. Lest we forget the lesson of Justin Schultz.

Safe to say Mike Hoffman’s career is pretty much over.
- Larsson_fan

It depends. For the Karlssons to file that order at all, they actually need some substantial proof of risk to his wife. Which leaves Hoffman in one of two camps: 1)He didn't know about it, despite everyone else seeming to or 2) He knew about it, didn't stop it and is now lying to cover his ass.

Option 1 leaves him looking like a clueless fool, and considering that he and Karlsson had a very public on-ice face to face, it also becomes a bit of a stretch.

Option 2 leaves him exactly where you said: without a career. No team will touch him even if he ditches Fatal Attraction tomorrow.

In the end though, due process should win out before we all break out the torches and pitchforks. It doesn't look good when you consider all the circumstantial things (Hoffman being on the block, the public confrontation, the players wives tweets), but everyone should hold off until something official is decided.

The courst of public opinion is a powerful and swift. Hoffman cant play with the Sens anymore. Who is going to touch him, unless he gets an incredibly convincing ( and realistically unimaginable) vindication here?

If we could get a fair return that would be different. But the talk of adding significant sweeteners would just set us back even more.

I think he has privately already asked and given a list. Jmo

At the end of the day he can come out and say that his fiancee has mental illness and he's trying to help her out.

The whole thing is just (frank)ed. Someone is a very bad person or someone is accusing someone of being a very bad person. Either way this has clearly driven a wedge in the club.

I think my other major issue here is what kind (frank)ing teammates are there in Ottawa? It sounds like a lot of this really took a turn late in the season, but it does sounds like Ms.Hoffman has been at Mrs. Karlsson for quite some time. Then again they've traded some very key people from their club so maybe there is no leaders.

It is for personal reasons, and I’m always hesitant to discuss those publicly.

I'd suggest you are correct. Neilsen has also been quite adamant that the list he has given isn't just a handful of teams

“I think he wants to get out of Canada. I don’t think he wants to play here anymore. I think that’s another situation where the wife has seen how much heat the player has taken, I think, and isn’t always comfortable with that. I think he wants to get out of Canada, but you’ve got to find a willing partner and even if I wanted Lucic I would be saying to the Oilers, ‘What premium are you going to be giving me to do it.’ “

Apparently that's what Elliot had to say.

Not shocking, but that wipes out VAN and MTL who seemed like they could have interest.

Nooooo, i refuse to believe this. It shall be Lucic and a 2nd for Eriksson. The second (maybe next draft, not this one) has to be there for the 1 less year on the contract, and the less defensive suck by the player. Loui can play either wing, and I think would still be a good fit with Drai if he can't keep up with McDavid. Van isn't a pressure heavy market, Lucic and his family will enjoy it there........please.

Florida - M.Lucic & J.Puljujarvi

Edmonton - N.Bjugstad, A.Petrovic, & H.Borgström

The trade takes place post July 1st so we cover his signing bonus.

Lucic with 1mil retained to Arizona or Vegas for future considerations

Lucic with another 750k retained to:

Dallas for Hanzal
LA for Lewis
Florida for McGinn

Or without retention from the Oilers to VGK/ARI (750k retained) to Columbus for Dubinsky

Then send whichever player it is back to Edmonton for a pick equivalent to the value of the cap withheld (probably a 3rd or something).

- Edmonton frees up long term space, an extra protection slot and a defensive roster player without giving up too much

- VGK/ARI/other get a pick for holding some cap

- And whichever team ends up with Lucic gets a player they pursued two years ago (LA and DAL) or a veteran physical presence (FLA) at a discounted rate. Lucic gets to go somewhere with less media scrutiny and likely rebound some.

I'm wondering if we are better off waiting until November or December as well.

Tell Lucic we will try facilitate a trade, but we are paying to get rid of you and will only take on a contract if that someone can bring something of value in 16+ minutes a night.

If he really wants out and wants a real good situation. Him playing well will make that happen a heck of a lot easier

I just want to know what happened during Christmas to make him go from career year to a disaster of a year. The more you look into the numbers, the crazier it gets.

Has anyone heard the latest about LD's little mishap?

Got completely hammered, piled up and potentially puked in what I'm thinking was Maroon's kids room. Sounds like it was a bit of a house party

I wonder if the frustration of a lack of changing it up on the special teams just finally got to guys.

Special teams was costing us games and not a lot was changing.

Yeah, pretty much. Kinda feel bad for him though. It must suck. Crashing down that hard after such a good start for him especially... We saw him vent his frustrations late into the season as well.

Karlsson + Stone for RNH+10OV+Klefbom? Yay or nay? We might need to add more value. Perhaps a 2019 1st?

Considering that the chances of the Sens imploding and starting from scratch are very real, the Sens might try to get a few young pieces to build around and some high picks.
