Even with the 10 pick, Lucic is hard to take on with that deal. Unless I guess if the Oilers retain some of his $$$ or take another poop contract like Alzner or whatever. |

I don't see the 40th pick being enough of a sweetener to take on that contract. Unless of course the Oilers retain about 2.5-3 million of his contract (assuming they don't take a bad contract back), than I guess maybe that pick may suffice. |

You better bet Jero’s ass that he starts to produce. Otherwise, he’s just a JB on that team. |

The stats don't back up a "decline". To me, he is around a 50pt/yr player over his career. The only "iffy" year was the last. To say he can't put up 40-50pts again is a bit ridiculous.
There is a reason why GM's would be inclined to trade for him, they probably see that too. Don't get me wrong , the contract is bad, but he does have a unique skill set that is still relevant in today's game. That shouldn't be given away for nothing.

At least PC has the balls to move on from a mistake. Would you rather us just keep Lucic to prove a point? |

Shouldn't he be moving on from himself then? All he's done have been mistakes |

Sean Maloughney: We Need To Talk About Milan
Fans probably aren't going to like a Milan Lucic trade as much as they think. - freelancer
I think you’re dreaming Sean. I’m pretty sure Lucic initiated this and has given a list.
And the 40th pick isn’t going to be close to a big enough sweetener. We will retain salary and or take back a contract. Plus add a prospect and pick.
Chia is a fuking moron and will dig us an even deeper hole. |

I don't know if he'll hit 50 again, but 40+ isn't far fetched.
Be curious what happen to him because it's not like he sucked all year. He was quite good before x-mas.
With that being said even he were to stay and bounce back I want to move on from him. Big fan, but if we can get away from his NMC I'd be quite happy. Don't want to protect him for the expansion draft. |

Instead of being bitter, deal with the fact that he is still here. Complaining ever (frank)ing day about him is getting old.
Regardless of what you want he's here next year so stop running every (frank)ing thread where something is trying to be talked about.

You’re the only one here constantly chugging his chode every day.
Can’t believe there are still people that just automatically praise every move.
Beginning to think you are related to him or something.

Certainly not however this is a pattern with Chiarelli and it's important to recognize that issue as opposed to pretending everything is fine. |

With or without Lucic it will probably be another year out of the playoffs for the Oil. They have to many holes that even the best player in the game can't cover. They need to try and actually build something instead of coming into every offseason looking for the get good fast deal. |

They need to keep him unless they find a good trade. You cannot afford to get fleeced 3 offseasons in a row. |
