You didn't get my point here. He is a great player but there is no other assets to compete in the league. I don't see them as a competitor for next 5 years and he will be 32 and wont be same player as now.
The return will be better if they traded him to EDM or TOR or any other team. Again it is good contract but bad for Arizona. - Leafsfan4
I completely got your point. We are not 5 plus years from being a playoff contender. Not with the D, goalie and young forwards we have. It's more like 2-3. In regards to trades, what would Toronto give? Because unless it was Nylander/Matthews at minimum, there is nothing else on that roster that's worth OEL. Edmonton would have to start with Draisaitl. To me, neither of those make sense for any of the 3 teams. He'll only be 34 when this contract ends, so we are getting his prime years at a rate that will be 2-3 mil less than Doughty and Karlsson.
Getting him to take 8.25 is a great deal moving forward as I stated. It allows us to get a winger who can score and maybe a center. Chayka has made great trades at the draft (Hammer for Murphy, Stepan/Raanta for No 7 and a spare D, Chychrun for cap space) so to say he'll be fired in 2 years is quite the stretch.
We can agree to disagree, but I think this is a great deal for both OEL and the team. Just this Coyotes fans opinion...

I am sorry my friend but they are no where close to making playoff. Don't forget that they couldn't win a game in the first 20 games or something. Nylander for OEL is a fair trade but he doesn't worth Draisaitl. Nylander will be better player in 2 years from now and worth more than OEL. Doughty and Karlsson are different level and don't compare with them.
Hammer for Murphy is a great trade. Are you kidding me? You know what Ottawa was worst team in save percentage last year and he failed to make the team.
Again it would be a great deal for other teams but not for Coyotes based on their current situation and their core players.

I'd love to see Saad in a Cane's uniform as soon as possible. Good riddance to Faulk where ever he goes to.
Buffalo now is rumored interested ? Hmmn.... I love to see the sources of the rumors.. |

Hmm, -28 last year?
I always thought that defensemen were first judged by their ability to play defense. All those goals against must have been the fault of someone else. Unless they start giving points in the standings for fantasy accomplishments. - scottak

(frank) NO to this trade unless its Saad+ for both Hanafin and Faulk or Hanafin + Rask/Lindholm. |
