I'm guessing between 9 and 12?
- Scabeh

Maybe. It's interesting how that skews things. Like OV and Tavares were also a day or so off from going in earlier drafts. Barkov and MacKinnon the opposite being the youngest guys in theirs. Tavares being older than Duchene was a big thing during their draft about why "Duchene will be better."

I don't put that much stock into it.

I mean sure, comparing the oldest guy in the draft to the youngest has to be taken into consideration when comparing the two... but in the end if the older guy is better, I don't care he's 11 months older.

The only knock on Tkachuk is that his lesser offensive upside may very well turn him into a 2nd line winger.

When picking at #3, go for the guy that has the most chance of becoming a superstar.

I won't be sad if we pick Tkachuk, he's gonna be good. Just wouldn't be my pick.

- Scabeh

Won't be sad if they pick either one of them. Just think it would be good for once to have a guy that can actually win puck battles in the corners.

Wouldn't mind Hughes as well.

Adam French has almost convinced me grabbing Dobson would be a good thing.

Almost.

Speaking of which, (frank)ing finish your mock draft already?

Didn't a team try to pick Ov the previous year in the draft?

He seems to enjoy starting lists more than finishing them.

The Panthers.

''Rick Dudley, the general manager of the Panthers, claimed the pick was legitimate, claiming that Ovechkin was old enough with leap years taken into consideration''

I am re-writing a lot of it because I've changed my mind. Tkachuk falls and Kaut, Kravtsov and Fehervary rise.

What happened with Streit? I know they got a bit sneaky in drafting Svoboda!

We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell 'em stories that don't go anywhere - like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you'd say.

Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

Many teams wanted to sign then 26 years old free agent Mark Streit...the Habs drafted him 262nd overall instead.
