Pathetic franchise that not only won’t win a Stanley Cup, but deserves one the least. Does anybody actually care about the Senators other than the people of Ottawa?

Damn. That's rough

The Sabres are at least 3 years away from becoming a serious contender. We need a starting goaltender that can stop beach balls first.

Rochester Americans made the playoffs for the first time in years with the newfound attention being paid to organizational depth.

That had more to do with the rest of the division, outside of the Marlies and Syracuse, being garbage.

Binghamton, Belleville, and Laval were all impressively bad.

As someone who has never spent one day in Ottawa in his entire life, I can say that I care yes. Deserves it the least is based on just a hateful comment by Mr. Wilson? That's great

He means in the sense that the owner doesn't deserve it, not the fans. I feel for Sens fans having a meddlesome owner.

Agree with Jets, Preds, Leafs.

A lot of people think Vegas was a one-off but they have a ton of cap space and a great system, depending on if they make a big splash in the off season they could be right there again.

I think you missed a caveat he made regarding original six. Toronto's last cup was the last season before the first major expansion out of the original six.

Vegas is in a great position to keep building free via agency and as RW pointed out, the Pacific is weak.

The Preds are the most interesting to me as I think they are a goalie change away from winning the cup.

Toronto could have been playing for the cup this year or at the very least the ECF if Matthews didn't get an gnarly injury at the end of the regular season.

Even though he's backtracked since, the owner has pretty much made it clear he'd like to move the team. I don't care what he's said since, but once you put it out there that you think the team would look good in another city, you can't un-say it.

Florida, uncle Dale, will get another one somewhere down the road. That was Chicago’s biggest mistake by letting him go. Those 3 cups we’re mostly his work. Now they have a fanboy GM that is controlled by his daddy and we’re watching all of dales work erode slowly but Surely!

LOL. I'm pretty sure he can't even come back in the states, but RW pointed that out. Wasn't he convicted of assault on his wife? I forget the whole thing.

Elliotte Friedman reports that Lindy Ruff is expected to stay with the Rangers.. curious to see what the Rangers do with Vladislav Namestnikov. He’s arbitration eligible, and the numbers are very good...and he did not mention the Rangers as one of the teams׳ in the top-10 looking to move up.

I don't think the Ranger's rebuild is going to be very long. They're in position to rebuild pretty quick I think and might be playoff team in two years. Namestnikov is only 25.

I think the Rangers should lock him up long-term.

Scary thing about the golden knights is that they have a buttload of salary cap along with a buttload of draft picks (3 2nd picks in 2020) and some solid prospects in their system. I could see them throwing huge money at OEL or Karlsson when they become FAs or even overpay to get them now. Their run this year may have helped them attract some good free agents too

Based on what? His production spiked when paired with Stamkos and Kucherov. In New York, had a a goal and assist his first game and then fell off the radar in terms of production and his play. His ask may be too high for a long term deal and unless you sign him to a bridge deal, he likely won’t earn that type of contract. I hope to be proven wrong but didn’t see much after the trade that excited me.

They overpaid for Tatar which took away available cap space and draft picks that could have been used to get Karlsson.

Sometimes it take a little bit to adjust to a new team/system. Plus, and I don't mean this as a jib, but the Rangers weren't exactly playing to win.
