I'm banking pretty heavily on the new GM wanting "toughness" and maybe being able to be convinced that a grinder like Caggs is exactly what they need. But no, I don't REALLY think that'd be enough; hence why I didn't include him in the final roster.

Honestly, I think my stance is the same as I have with Lemieux. I don't think they're at all interested in moving him as he represents the perfect mix of ability, youth and intangibles that helps drive middling teams over the edge into contending. Factor in his small cap hit and there's almost no chance he gets moved save maybe in a package for a 1C (like Draisaitl). They don't really need anything else.

You know, I think you're right there. I misspoke and was kinda stuck with thinking of those players within the lens of how I see them now. Weber and Thornton certainly would have helped but I don't know that it would've been enough to have that team be in the playoffs in those following two years, either.
