Caps ran us over this game. Much more physical, Wilson is a scary dude with his hits. When he got to smoke Paquette in the first shift you just knew it was going to be a hard battle through 60 mins.

Great play by Backs on the 1-0 goal. Killer cheated on the coverage and we got burned right away.

Holtby was great, not a good sign..

What the hell is wrong with Kuch? Is he injuried or is he just very excited to try out his new golfbag?

I think Coburn had a great game, unfortunate that he took that minor that lead to the first goal..

Lets close this out tomorrow.

It's time for Cooper to take the training wheels off of Sergachev. He breaks the puck out well and consistently creates chances from the blue line in the offensive zone by shaking away from forwards. Don't just wait until you're down in the third period to put him on a line with Hedman in an attempt to create offense, do it from the start of the game. He's one of the most dynamic players on the team, give him the opportunity to show that.

Well its down to one game for their season to continue. They worked all year so this game is on home ice. If they want it they need to go take it.

Hopefully the boys show up tomorrow night.

If we win, great.
If we lose... oh good... don't have to be the sacrificial lamb to complete Vegas' ascension into sports legend.

Down three goals and they’re still passing up shots from the slot.

Stamkos is invisible. At this point he is nothing more than a power play specialist.

All that talent, more than anyone else in the league, and you guys can’t even make it back to the SCF?

That’s pathetic

Underachievers

Time to find a new coach IMO

Someone has to take the fall for this failure

Hey good run guys. I was rooting for you, love Stamkos. Couldnt find a reason to dislike the bolts, even when they snuffed the bruins.

Congrats to the Caps . They outplayed us especially in the second periods where we dominated all season. Guys were invisible Stammer and Kuch outside of PPs were not a factor. Cirelli time caught up to and Killorn and Miller outplayed. Thank God I don’t have to listen to Pierre McGuire anymore this year.

Interesting to see the injury report and surgeries scheduled, not an excuse everyone has injuries this time of year, but you never get a picture outside of play which is not always evident as the opponent may just be shutting them down own outright.

Disappointed in reading other forums and blogs in regards to the end of the season. The way people are acting we are the Montreal Canadiens ... .

I agree the team failed to show up these last two games but talking about total rebuilds, stripping the C, firing the coach is a bit excessive.

Well, gotta' give credit where it's due: OV was a beast and that Caps team looks for real. Good for them.

A lot of good and a bit of bad overall this season and playoffs.

Haven't seen the injury report, but I have to think Stammer and (especially) Kuch were banged up. That and Miller didn't seem to fit on that line, overall. Part of me thinks that it may be worth reuniting the triplets next year and putting Point with Stammer and Killorn (ignore the detractors, the two play well together, always have).

Vasy now knows what it means to be a #1 and to deal with the crazy workload. I'm sure he'll condition in the offseason to keep improving and the mental load is now known.

The D will be fine next year. A full year of McD could be very interesting. Serg looked better and better in the post-season, he's a keeper. Girardi... blegh... even Hedman can't make him work. Depth guy, at best, these days. Would rather see Dotchin, Masin, Koekkoek or a pylon in his stead. Sure, he had a few good "oldschoolhawkeyguuuuy" moments ... that didn't make up for his lack of speed and mental quickness.

Cooper has taken this club to 3 Conference Finals and a Cup Final in the last 4 years. That's not nothing, and it isn't as though this club is about to collapse due to contracts. Hell, we have Cally, Coburn and Girardi coming off soon. Cool.

Good prospects, good young core, a franchise D-man, a legit #1 center... we're in fine condition for the foreseeable future. No need to panic, and certainly no need to be down on a season like we just saw.

Ya, as a new resident to the area, I fell in love with this team.
That said, they were physically manhandled by Washington...and played somewhat timid in last two games when OVi, Wilson, Oshie, Orpik et all went to work.
Bolts need to tweak the lineup a bit to infuse a bit more “heavy” into their lineup both up top and backend.
Will be an interesting offseason.

Cooper is a donkey though. I'm not the biggest fan, but even then... is there even anyone better than him on the market?

The D failed to show up basically all season and the team failed to show up the entire WSH series. Cooper is an extremely overrated coach and Yzermans Girardi signing was exposed this series. Swap Girardi and Sergachevs minutes and you have a very different series.

Cooper didn't get the most out of his roster. Some of that is player usage issues. Some of that is tactics issues.

Agreed, if there's any change that should be made it's in the coaching position.
